The Batavia travel softball program is ready for another exciting year. The program continues to grow and expand year over year with the Bulldogs adding another 14U team and a 16U tournament team.
Longtime head coach Tony Schmitz was really excited about the growth of the program. "We have a 12U All Star team ready to feed our program and we had an amazing turn out for our tryouts that enabled us to expand to two very talented 14U teams", said Schmitz.
The program has also reached a great milestone in its growth by contributing 6 new freshman players, including 2 pitchers and 2 catchers, to the Batavia High School softball team who have been playing together for 3 years. The partnership between the Batavia travel program and Batavia High School continues to flourish with excellent collaboration with Varsity Head Coach, Torry Pryor and his entire coaching staff.
Off season workouts and professional coaching will also go to the next level this year with a new partnership with Elite Sports Complex in St. Charles for professional hitting and defensive instruction. In addition, to the partnership with Elite, the program will continue to take advantage of access to the Batavia High School field house, one of the premier indoor facilities in northern Illinois.
Batavia travel softball continues to select and nurture local Batavia softball talent while also attracting new players from Winfield, St. Charles and Geneva. The fall season is underway for both 14U teams with a full slate of practices, games and tournaments. Let's go Bulldogs!
