The Bulldogs were in action for a fall double header against a quality Wheatland Spikes program down south. The Bulldogs got roughed up in the first game with a 12-5 loss in game 1, but bounced back to earn a 5-5 tie in game 2.
The contests were a good early training season measuring stick for the Bulldogs. The Spikes got to Chloe "Thunder" Tratar early with 8 hits and 10 runs in the first three innings. Tratar has been working hard, but has not quite hit her stride this fall. The offense came alive late in game 1 with a 3 run rally in the in the 5th, led by the impressive group of rookies. Amy Morden started things off with a quality bunt for hit, followed by a walk from Avery "Showtime" Lundblad. Morden scored on a ground ball by Alexa Vander. Lundblad later scored on an error by the shortstop. The white hot Aerin Seemann drove Vander in with a base hit.
Errors continue to be a challenge for the Bulldogs, with the team committing a total of 7 errors on the day with 5 of those errors coming in the first game. The Bulldogs limited the mistakes in the second game with only 2 errors with another solid pitching effort turned in by Avery "Showtime" Lundblad. The Bulldogs offense also came alive with 9 hits, with RBI's by the usual suspects of Reynolds, Schroeder, Fender and Vander.
