Coming off of a successful 2017-2018 travel softball season, the Batavia Travel Softball program is poised to go to the next level with several new and exciting plans for the 2018-2019 season.
First, the program nearly doubled the number of girls trying out for the program in 2018 over 2017. Batavia Travel Softball had over 70 girls tryout in July and August. The program attracted talent from several other local travel programs for the tryouts including Geneva, Elgin, Winfield, Wasco, Wheaton, St. Charles, Yorkville, Elk Grove, Aurora, Elburn and several other communities.
For the 2018-2019 Season, the program will also be working much more closely with the Batavia High School Varsity and Junior Varsity coaching staff to leverage their expertise in developing our young athletes, providing them with better exposure to the High School Program and beginning to develop a common set of practice plans and drills at all levels of the Batavia softball program from Rec leagues, though travel and into High School. The Batavia Travel Softball Program will also be expanding to include a 16U team in the 2018-2019 season lead by head coach Tim Stark in coordination with the Varsity and Junior Varsity teams at Batavia High School.
Batavia Travel Softball will also continue many of the same things that contributed to it's growth and success including playing 5-6 tournaments, winter indoor games, a 50-60 game season, professional pitching clinics, professional hitting instruction at All American Sports in North Aurora, rigorous winter workouts at BHS Fieldhouse and extensive use of technology to help develop player skills including video analysis, statistics and game reviews, swing analysis tools and many other technologies.
