Chloe "Thunder" Tratar and Katie "Duck" Schroeder Named Co-MVP's in Bartlett Game
As the AC/DC song goes, "You've been thunderstruck." Only in this case the Bartlett Hawks were ThunderDuck as Chloe "Thunder" Tratar and Katie "Duck" Schroeder lead the 12U Bulldogs to their second IPL league game victory in a row to stay undefeated in the league. Tratar racked up her second pitching win of the season starting in the circle for the Bulldogs and going 3 innings and giving up 4 runs on 4 hits with 5 strike outs. Meghan "Doc" Seuss came on in relief to earn her second save while holding the Hawks to only 1 more run on 1 hit with two strike outs.
Both pitchers enjoyed strong run support once again with the 12U Bulldogs averaging almost 7 runs per game. Katie "Duck" Schroeder who leads the team on offense for the season with a .563 batting average, once again lead the Bulldogs on offense going 1 for 3 at the plate, with an RBI, 3 stolen bases and scoring twice. Avery "Showtime" Lundblad also scored twice and stole a base. The Bulldogs continue their strong running game led by Bella "Zucchini" Zagotta and Syd "Vicious" Schmitz who each stole 2 bases and scored one run each. Zagotta and Schmitz are tied for second on the team behind Schroeder for the most stolen bases on the team with 6 each. Shouse, Randles and Jonas all contributed to the offense with Shouse and Randles supplying hits and Jonas providing a sacrifice fly for an RBI.
Lundblad and Zagotta lead the Bulldogs defense, accounting for 7 of the 15 total put outs in the game while the entire team stayed perfect in the field with no errors for the game.
