The 14U Batavia Travel Softball team held a softball clinic for the Louise White School Girl Scouts Troop consisting of 3rd graders. This group of Future Bulldogs were excited to pitch, hit, throw and perform perfect fielding technique for the team. The 14U players were happy to pay forward the coaching and instruction they had received from BTS Coaches all Winter, and it paid off since many of the scouts made their first contact ever while swinging the bats.
Although there were no Girl Scout cookies traded after the clinic (it was a game day for the 14U team after all), the Scouts were very appreciative of the fun they had with the older girls. Coach Tim Stark even pulled out from his bag of tricks a simple yet effective technique for a young player to visualize her bat making contact with the ball. Coach will consider ordering an extra small jersey for an upcoming tournament if her Mom says it's ok first. She might be the next Rookie of the Year.
