The 12U hosted a season kick off meeting at Pal Joey's on Thursday night. During the banquet coach Schmitz provided a brief overview of the Batavia Travel Softball program, our credo, all the different technologies we use as well as all of the hard work the team has done over the winter to prepare for the season.
Some of the highlights included the fact that the team has had over 40 practices, the pitchers attended several months of pitching clinics and the team has gotten professional hitting instruction. In short, the girls have worked hard and they are now ready to have some fun playing games from April to July.
Information was also provided to the parents about how we manage the team using a statistics and data driven approach using game changer. Other valuable technologies covered were team snap for scheduling, coaches eye for video breakdown and analysis and the new team website.
The key message to the team was that they know a lot and now it is time to use what they know. The team launched the new website and provided a brief introduction to each girl on the team and their new nicknames. Four players received special recognition for their hard work during the off season. With Avery Lundblad winning the BTS Muscle Award for being the most fit player, Gwen Shouse winning the title speed queen as the fastest player on the team, Chloe Tratar winning the always ready award and Isabella Jonas earning the workin hard title for her quiet professionalism and hard work at every practice.
